Revolutions do come from the United States! I stopped by the American Library in Paris to present my new book, The Bilingual Revolution, and discuss bilingual education and the rise of dual language programs in the United States. This was my first book talk in France, and it was done in English and in an American institution!

The Bilingual Revolution in Washington, DC

Back from DC where I proudly supported the efforts of DC Immersion and its wonderful team in what is now referred to as the Bilingual Revolution in DC. During these three days, I took part in no less than 9 events and talked about my book, the role of parents in creating dual language programs, and how these could benefit DC public schools. I stopped by in all 8 Wards and met with community leaders, elected officials, motivated parents, and bilingual educators, while explaining how NYC parents and educators have created new dual language programs in a dozen of languages.

Alle Erstklässler, die in diesem Jahr an der P.S 18 in Brooklyn mit „Kindergarten“ im Alter von ca. fünf Jahren eingeschult wurden, nehmen an einem spanischen Dual-Language-Programm teil, welches durch Deutschunterricht ergänzt wird. President Macron launched French Dual Language Fund in New York

What a day! Who would have thought 10 years ago that this day would come. Last Wednesday, President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated our French Dual Language Fund at the CUNY Graduate Center on Fifth Avenue in front of a large crowd of educators, parents, and supporters. His words in favor of bilingual education and the bridges that we create when we know more than one language resonated with all of us.
