Lots of interest for The Bilingual Revolution in Los Angeles. I had a great exchange with the participants, and presented my vision for the future of education which calls for the creation of dual-language education programs in every city. I also met with several very active parents and educators who are working towards creating new dual-language programs in Los Angeles.

I was invited to speak at a live panel entitled ” Raising Multilingual Children: From Home to School and Back,” alongside Rita Roseback, Family Language Coach and founder of Multilingual parenting website, Marianna du Bosq, host of the Bilingual Avenue podcast, William Rivers, Executive Director of the Joint National Committee for Languages (JNCL). The panel, organized by Language Learning Summit, was hosted by Tetsu Yung who, among many other things, organizes LangFest Montreal.

Great exchange today at la Librairie des Enfants, a cute bookstore in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Parents and educators came in to chat about bilingualism, dual-language education, and The Bilingual Revolution. Among the languages represented we had Russian, Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, Kabyle, and English.

I was recently in Switzerland to present my research on philanthropy and education as well as my book Unequal Partners at the Inaugural Symposium “Philanthropy on Education: Global Trends, Regional Differences and Diverse Perspectives.” The Symposium, which took place at The Graduate Institute in Geneva on November 22-24, was the perfect place to discuss issues related to philanthropy in education.
