[FR] La Révolution bilingue, ce qu’en dit Louis Duvernois, sénateur des Français établis hors de France

Le monde moderne nous oblige, pour se sentir en harmonie avec lui, à penser global et à agir local. L’éducation bilingue est sans conteste aujourd’hui la solution la plus originale et la plus efficace pour relever le défi de l’ouverture à la langue française et au monde francophone, en partenariat avec d’autres grandes langues nationales. Le bilinguisme n’est pas seulement l’apprentissage simultané de deux langues universelles, mais aussi une scolarisation dans le respect et le génie de chacune des deux langues d’enseignement. Les neuropsychiatres affirment que cette double exposition  est un atout pour le cerveau et que plus on pratique ce bilinguisme, mieux c’est pour l’enfant. Le livre-enquête et d’analyse de Fabrice Jaumont, Phd, spécialiste de ce type d’éducation reconnue dans de nombreux pays, est en phase avec l’accélération de la mondialisation éducative, tant dans les écoles publiques que privées. La France est pour sa part en pointe en matière de développement du caractère bilingue de la pédagogie française déjà attractive à l’étranger.

The Language and Laughter Studio in Brooklyn

Today I visisted The Language and Laughter Studio founded by Pascale Setbon in 2005.  The Language and Laughter Studio is a bilingual pre-school in the heart of downtown Brooklyn.  They are pioneers in bilingual education!  The believe in progressive language education that is centered in arts integration, imagination, child-driven projects, and play based learning!

My talk “Why learning languages matters” at the Alliance Française of Greenwich

I was invited by the Alliance Francaise of Greenwich, CT to talk about the importance of being multi-lingual and my research about the bilingual revolution. I was able to explain why I learned English and how important it became for me in my career, thanks to a great teacher in the 6th grade who was able to share his passion for the English language.

I also had the chance to distribute awards and prizes to Greenwich high school students who excel in French. France Honors Carnegie Corporation President Vartan Gregorian

Vartan Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corporation of New York, was awarded the medal of Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor at a ceremony at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York City on February 9. The French ambassador to the United States, Gérard Araud, presented the insignia to Gregorian in recognition of his three-decade effort to strengthen Franco-American relations, advance links between French and American institutions of higher education, and promote the study of French culture and language.
