The Burlington Bilingual Initiative

I recently took part in a broadcast panel discussion on bilingual education at the CCTV Center for Media & Democracy (Channel 17) in Burlington, Vermont, to both present my book, The Bilingual Revolution, and support efforts to create a bilingual educational experience in the school system of Burlington. Host Steve Norman, Francophile and activist, took part in this discussion alongside Congo-born Cleophace Mukeba, Vermont Ibutwa Initiative founder, and Burlington City Council President Jane Knodell. [FR] Rencontre et dédicace à l’American Library in Paris

Aux États-Unis, on fait aussi la révolution ! De passage en France, j’ai pu présenter mon nouveau livre, La Révolution bilingue, à l’American Library in Paris. L’occasion de parler d’éducation bilingue et du développement constant des filières bilingues dans les écoles aux États-Unis. C’était ma première rencontre et dédicace en France, à Paris, en langue anglaise et, qui plus est, dans une institution américaine !

NYC Bilingual Fair and First Ich Bin Expat Fair

I was thrilled to take part in both NYC’s Bilingual Fair and the Ich Bin Expat Fair today. The first event was hosted by French Morning and Fordham University and gathered hundreds of exhibitors and participants from various linguistic communities.  The second event was hosted CityKinder, a New York-based group, and offered a multitude of opportunities to meet German businesses, schools, and community organizations. I was able to take part in several talks on bilingual education and share insights on the Bilingual Revolution while meeting with parents and educators from the Tri-State and beyond who shared the same desire to see more dual language programs open in schools everywhere.

The Bilingual Revolution: Adopt a Translation Campaign!

Today is International Translation Day which is celebrated every year on September 30 to show solidarity of the worldwide translation community in an effort to promote the translation profession in different countries. This is an opportunity to display pride in a profession that is becoming increasingly essential in the era of progressing globalization.

To mark this day, I have decided to give my new book for free both in its original English and its French ebook editions for everyone who will contribute to The Bilingual Revolution’s  Adopt a Translation campaign.  The campaign’s goal is to translate The Bilingual Revolution in 8 languages: Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish.
