This engaging book tells the story of the history of the bilingual education in the U.S.A. and the social forces that shaped that trajectory from perspective that is both personal and scholary. The center piece is a “how to” manual for setting up your own bilingual school and in so doing creating your own revolution. Recommended for parents, teachers, and everyone who thinks that languages are important.

Vanessa opened her first school in Harlem six years ago and is now working towards opening her fourth school, with Spanish this time. Her schools accept children six weeks old to four years old and expose them to languages all day long!

A rejuvenating tour of La Petite Ecole, a bilingual + arts preschool founded by Virgil de Voldere seven years ago, and now on three sites in New York with perhaps more to come. Start them young! Bilingualism is a gift for life, a gift that keeps on giving! And so are the arts. @lapetiteecolenyc
