I was thrilled to be in Springfield for Massachusetts Foreign Language Association’s 52nd annual conference. It was a special occasion for me to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Massachusetts is where I first moved in 1997 and coming back to give the keynote was truly an honor. Collaboration and connection-building were at the center of the Network of Immersion and CLIL Educators’ Inaugural Conference in Seville, Spain. CLIL and immersion teachers from different countries were able to learn and share experience during this two-day conference hosted at Centro Universitario EUSA. Professional development is key to successful dual-language programs and opportunities to connect across languages and across countries are scarce. Amanda Seewald and her team wanted to change that and offer new opportunities for teachers to grow.
