Collaboration and connection-building were at the center of the Network of Immersion and CLIL Educators’ Inaugural Conference in Seville, Spain. CLIL and immersion teachers from different countries were able to learn and share experience during this two-day conference hosted at Centro Universitario EUSA. Professional development is key to successful dual-language programs and opportunities to connect across languages and across countries are scarce. Amanda Seewald and her team wanted to change that and offer new opportunities for teachers to grow.
I was invited to speak on Entre Dos, a podcast created by Monika Leal and Paula Niño Kehr, both native Spanish speakers raising bilingual daughters. Each week, they bring stories of real families, conversations with experts, important research and resources to inspire and help their readers raise their bilingual child.
I am thrilled to keynote during DC’s upcoming Multilingual Education Fair on January 26. Co-sponsored by the key education institutions of the District, the fair features 100 exhibitors covering 12 languages to allow you to explore and deepen your linguistic and cultural skills, and learn about careers where language skills are crucial. The Fair will be located on the Gallaudet University campus at the I. King Jordan Student Academic Center (800 Florida Ave NE, Washington DC 20002).
